COUPLES PROGRAM

Discover the path to healing and connection in your relationship at our exclusive Specialized Couples Program. Located in the serene surroundings of Vernon, BC, our program offers a dedicated space for couples to overcome the challenges posed by OSIs and rebuild their bonds.

The Connecting Couples Program is an expansion of our highly successful Operational Stress Recovery program, which already included a brief couples component. Responding to the overwhelmingly positive impact of this intervention and the growing demand for couples-focused support, we have developed a week-long clinic that has been running successfully since 2018.

The Couples Program at a Glance:

We understand the vital importance of treating both partners and nurturing the relationship itself, recognizing that the effects of an Operational Stress Injury (OSI) extend beyond the individual. Research consistently demonstrates that addressing marital problems alongside OSI treatment enhances overall recovery outcomes.

Our comprehensive program features:

1. Education: Gain a deep understanding of how OSIs impact marital and family relationships. Equipped with knowledge, partners can navigate the challenges more effectively.

2. Mutual Support: Foster an environment of support and connection where spouses can lean on each other for understanding and encouragement, creating a strong foundation for the healing journey.

3. Skills-Building: Develop essential communication and conflict management skills to mitigate the impact of OSIs on your marriage. Strengthen your relationship through shared strategies and coping mechanisms.

4. OSI Symptom Management: Address the symptoms that strain marriages, such as irritability, emotional numbness/distancing, and impaired intimacy. Learn techniques to overcome these challenges and enhance marital well-being.

5. Individualized Couples Sessions: Engage in personalized couples sessions with our trained professionals, who understand the unique dynamics and needs of each couple. Tailored guidance and support are provided to help you navigate your specific circumstances.

6. Complementary and Alternative Therapies: Experience the benefits of complementary therapies, including HeartMath® biofeedback, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other self-regulation techniques. These innovative approaches promote emotional regulation and healing within the context of your relationship.
