Residence and Venue

Our venue, The Vernon Lodge, provides a nurturing and secure environment for participants to embark on their healing journey. As part of our commitment to utmost comfort and convenience, participants stay on campus in our private rooms and suites. 

We understand that some participants may require additional support and supervision during their stay. Our dedicated team is readily available to provide enhanced support to meet individual needs. We prioritize safety and have comprehensive safety plans in place, including 24/7 security, ensuring a secure and tranquil environment.

At our program, we value independence and respect the autonomy of our participants. Unlike traditional inpatient hospitals, we do not restrict personal items such as phones. We believe that maintaining personal connections and access to familiar technology can be important for the healing process. However, we work closely with participants to establish healthy boundaries and ensure a safe and conducive therapeutic environment.

Your well-being and comfort are our top priorities. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space where you can feel supported, empowered, and at ease throughout your transformative journey of healing.

Please note that accommodation, travel, and food are not covered by program fees. For VAC clients, you may be eligible for reimbursement through the Health Related Travel form. If this poses a barrier to you, please reach out and we will work with you.

Safety Plan

At our program, the well-being and safety of our participants is of utmost importance. We have implemented a comprehensive safety plan to ensure a secure and supportive environment even outside of program hours. Here are some key elements of our safety plan:

1. On-Site Security: We have 24/7 on-site security personnel who are trained to handle any emergencies or security concerns that may arise. They provide constant surveillance and monitoring to ensure the safety of all participants.

2. Enhanced Support and Supervision: For participants who require additional support or supervision, we offer enhanced support services. Our caring staff members are available to provide guidance, assistance, and supervision as needed, ensuring that participants feel secure and supported throughout their stay.

3. Safety Checks and Protocols: We have established regular safety checks and protocols to ensure the physical well-being of participants. These include routine inspections of the facility, ensuring proper maintenance and addressing any safety concerns promptly.

4. Personalized Safety Plans: Each participant works with their assigned therapist or counselor to create a personalized safety plan. This plan outlines strategies and coping mechanisms to manage challenging situations and promote their overall well-being. It includes identifying triggers, developing self-soothing techniques, and establishing a support network.

5. Emergency Response Procedures: We have clear and effective emergency response procedures in place. Our staff is trained in first aid and CPR, and we conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness for any unforeseen circumstances.

6. Collaborative Discharge Planning: As participants near the end of their program, our team collaborates with them and their support system to develop a comprehensive discharge plan. This plan includes strategies and resources to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing support after leaving the program.
